Summary: This is a full-time position for the summer months. The Account Manager Intern will support our account management team in day-to-day operations, client servicing needs, renewal activities, and project-based work. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, communication, and working in a collaborative professional environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience in employee benefits, client relations, and brokerage operations. Intern will be responsible for completing a project at the direction of their supervisor and present their findings at the end of the program.
Over eight-to-ten weeks, beginning May 28, 2026, and ending on August 7, 2026, the Summer Internship program is a paid multidisciplinary program designed to complement your classroom training and career goals. The program is designed to introduce qualified and talented students to the many facets of a growing insurance brokerage and the industry. Interns will get opportunities to participate in a wide range of (in-person or virtual) networking and social opportunities across the NFP community. Throughout the program interns will work towards a final project, drawing on their experiences across the three product segments, culminating in a presentation to NFP Leadership.
This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility a few days a week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Directors and account team in day to day client servicing
- Develop relationships alongside leaders with clients, team members and vendor partners
- Assist Account Managers with client servicing tasks, including preparing benefits materials, renewal documents, and presentations
- Assist with creating and updating benefits related guides for clients
- Support the completion of client renewals, open enrollment activities, and vendor coordination
- Conduct research on insurance carriers, plan options, and industry trends.
- Help maintain client files, data entry, and CRM updates to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and proposals for internal and external meetings
- Participate in client calls or internal meetings as appropriate
- Provide general administrative and project support to the benefits team
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to initiate and follow through with independent projects
- Excellent communication (verbal and writing) and interpersonal skills
- Cultivating relationship ability
- Strong problem solving ability
- Customer service oriented
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to work up to 40 hours per week
Education and/or Experience:
- Rising senior of a four-year university preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain professionalism
- Interest in insurance, employee benefits, HR, or client service is preferred but not required

The base salary range for this position is $18 to $24 per hour. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
