Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8-5

The Cancer Care Institue at MetroHealth Medical Center with the Department of Ob/Gyn, Case Western Reserve University is seeking applications for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Gynecologic Oncology Division.

Summary:

Delivers direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse's education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues which affect our gynecologic cancer patients. The NP will have working knowledge of care for women; some oncology experience also preferred but not mandatory. Inpatient care of med/surg patients and/or critical care patients would also be useful. Responsibilities include: routine gynecologic care and procedures including biopsies and colposcopy chemotherapy delivery and management of side effects, cancer survivorship and surveillance, assistance with weekly tumor board preparation and interaction with the residents. The APN will not only assist the two Gyn Oncology attendings but will have independent clinic time as well. The care of Gyn Oncology patients is truly rewarding. This is the only specialty that cares for patients across the entire spectrum of Oncology. Patients are cared for from diagnosis through chemotherapy administration. The Gyn Onc NP will serve as a critical anchor for the entire Gyn Onc team. The team at MetroHealth is comprised of two attending physicians, two clinical RNs and a secretary. MetroHealth is a teaching institution with resident physicians a constant presence on the team.

Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Women's Health or Family Nurse Practitioner Program
  • One year of advanced practice experience
  • Women's Health and/or Oncology inpatient nursing experience preferred
  • Active, unrestricted Ohio APN license
