Besides building some of the nation's largest utility-scale solar plants and installing more EV charging stations in California than any other contractor, we are dedicated to running a business that is environmentally responsible.ABOUT THE ROLEAt Cupertino Electric, Assistant Project Managers (APM) are key to coordination between the field team, project team, and our customers. By partnering with the Project Manager, the APM will learn the processes and witness the critical thinking required for approaching our projects from a strategic lens. The APM will gain a deep understanding of CEI's scope of work on a project. Additionally, they contribute to, review, and track project activities including change orders, submittals, tracking logs, and related project documents.
- Lead team meetings and provide guidance to Project Engineers and Project Coordinators in partnership with the Project Manager, Production Manager, field team and Trade Partners.
- Identifies cost and schedule impacts associated with RFIs, submittals, and design changes and provides timely notification.
- Prices change orders consistently and in a timely manner for project manager review and approval.
- Develops and manages close out documents as the Project progresses.
- Coordinate commissioning activities w/ 3rd party. Tracks and follows up on open items.
- Maintain strong working partnerships with vendors and subcontractors. Coordinates accurate material releases on time and consistent with project documents. Track material releases, changes and coordinate delivery with construction schedule.
- Serve as the go-to person to help resolve any issues or potential problem areas.
- Actively thinks about new ways to improve or change processes. Brings innovative and entrepreneurial thinking to a project.
- Prior experience working on semi-remote jobsites, supervising others. Renewables/Large Electrical/Data Center build experience highly desired.
- Good working knowledge of MS applications including Excel.
- Prior experience in electrical estimating and the ability to accurately estimate change order pricing.
- Knowledge of Electrical Code and Civil Construction.
Licensure/Certifications: None required.
Experience: Three (3) or more years of experience specifically as a Project Engineer in electrical construction (Renewable Energy preferred) or MEP/Civil/Structural experience in general contracting. Minimum five (5)+ years of related experience, including some time managing smaller projects.
