Job Description

Reporting the Manager Scientific Affairs you'll analyze the composition of food products, conduct experiments, gather data and findings, and prepare written reports to ensure compliance to nutritional labeling specifications, regulatory guidance's, and food safety standards.

Position Responsibilities

  • Under direct guidance, develop and execute project goals and technical work plans.
  • Perform chemical analysis to identify problems and opportunities to support product development, nutritional labeling, quality programs, and applied research.
  • Communicate with direct team members and leaders to provide analytical guidance to other business teams.
  • Contribute to development and continuous improvement of test methods, technical procedures, and other laboratory processes.
  • Perform routine maintenance on lab equipment; troubleshoot and repair.
  • Champion a positive food safety culture, take ownership, and empower others to take immediate action on matters concerning food safety

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Food Science
  • Practical hands-on laboratory experience.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals.
  • We ask that you are able to travel, up to 25%

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Use of laboratory equipment - ovens, balances, furnaces, blenders, centrifuges, spectroscopy and chromatography instrumentation, wet chemistry.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds periodically.
  • Pushing/pulling laboratory carts.
  • Work with solvents/acids/bases in fume hoods.
  • Work in cold rooms/freezers.
  • Work in and around cramped/confined spaces.
  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments including loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, and slippery conditions. Exposure to food tasting and smells including all food allergens.

Compensation:

Pay Range:$59,000-$78,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee's actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees' equity.Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
