Our global pharma client is seeking an Audio/Visual Technical Manager to join their team for the next 12 months, 40 hours/week.
This role is fully onsite in North Chicago, IL.
Role Summary
The Audio Visual (AV) Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of live and virtual event production, including audio, video, and streaming technology. This role requires hands-on expertise in AV integration, pre-production planning, and onsite execution. Reporting to the Manager of Meetings, Events & Video Production, the AV Technical Manager will work independently to ensure seamless event delivery, maintain equipment, and uphold client satisfaction. The position demands strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Top Must-Have Skills
Proficiency in virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client and internal interactions
Working knowledge of audio and video equipment for live and virtual events
Experience managing clients and labor during event execution
Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Additional Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Communications, Theater Production, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience). Master's degree desirable.
Experience: Minimum 5+ years in AV production for live events and video streaming.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of digital video production technology, web streaming platforms, and AV systems for corporate meetings.

Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for meeting, event, and video production.
Consult with account managers, project managers, and suppliers to scope projects accurately and ensure timely, budget-conscious execution.
Supervise and develop AV technicians (staff and contractors).
Manage crisis situations during live events, prioritizing logistics to meet client needs.
Maintain and repair department audio, video, and streaming equipment; coordinate new equipment purchases.
Assist with technical aspects of facility build-outs and upgrades.
Ensure compliance with safety codes and corporate policies for all venues.
Track time daily/weekly and meet utilization targets.
Provide clear, professional communication to internal stakeholders, including executives, and external partners.
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, drug products may be present in the workplace.
