Join Lundbeck's Indirect Procurement team as Category Manager - Professional Services, where you will play a key role in how we partner with external experts across consulting, legal, HR, finance, and other professional services. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across functions and geographies to ensure that our engagements with professional service providers are structured, transparent, and deliver meaningful value to the business.

The Corporate Procurement team is a global function comprising over 60 engaged and passionate colleagues located in Copenhagen, Krakow, and Deerfield. Together, we secure a professional and efficient source-to-pay process across the full Lundbeck value chain. We ensure spend transparency, compliance, and effective support through procurement systems and effective cross-functional collaboration. Our culture emphasizes ongoing development, where we learn from each other and external best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop category-specific procurement strategies in close collaboration with global stakeholders in Finance, HR, Legal, and Corporate Functions.
  • Translate business needs into clear sourcing priorities and supplier models, ensuring alignment and transparency across the organization.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives from strategy through contracting, including supplier selection, negotiation, and implementation.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support supplier performance and governance activities to ensure quality, compliance, and value delivery.
  • Monitor market developments and identify opportunities for smarter ways of working, improved processes, and enhanced business impact.
  • Contribute to Procurement's broader agenda, supporting continuous improvement and simplification across processes, tools, and ways of working.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Accredited bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, consulting, or other relevant commercial or operational roles.
  • Proven experience developing and executing category or sourcing strategies within a global or matrix organization.
  • A structured and analytical approach, able to translate complex needs into clear, actionable plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage across functions and seniority levels.
  • Experience with contracting, supplier engagement, and governance frameworks.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, thriving in an environment where priorities evolve.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration across diverse teams and cultures.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Accredited master's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, consulting, or other relevant commercial or operational roles, ideally within professional services categories
  • Exposure to indirect spend categories and category management frameworks
  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., pharma, healthcare, manufacturing)
  • Familiarity with procurement systems and digital sourcing tools
  • Experience in supplier governance or contract management is a plus
  • Comfortable operating in a matrix environment and across geographies
  • Experience combining structure and collaboration with a pragmatic, business-focused mindset

TRAVEL

  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time.

The range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Illinois, if selected for this role, and may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000 and eligibility for a 15% bonus target based on company and individual performance. Benefits for this position include flexible paid time off (PTO), health benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision and company match 401k.
