Coal Equipment Operator
Red Hills Power Plant: Ackerman, MS
JOB SUMMARY
As a Coal Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for inspecting, operating and monitoring coal conveyor systems; fuel transfer and supply lines and associated equipment; collect and prepare fuel samples; prepare and complete documentation for these procedures. The Coal Equipment Operator also operates the Limestone Drying Process Equipment at the plant and will perform other operations & maintenance duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience Requirements
- Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles
- Some knowledge of power plant principles preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of hand tools
- Ability to take instructions/directions and translate into actions
- Math and calculation skills
- Ability to read, understand and follow procedures, rules and regulations
Other Requirements
- Successfully pass the written POSS/MASS Test
- This job requires shift work and overtime
- Must be available to respond to call-outs seven days per week
- Perform physical activities while wearing respiratory equipment
- Perform physical work activities in a power plant environment
Testing Information
You will be invited to take the POSS/MASS assessment upon completing your application. You will receive two separate invites to test on both the POSS and MASS- both e-mails will have the same subject line. Please schedule both tests together at your earliest convenience (you will see a 3-week expiration on the test).
