Job Description
Baptist Neighborhood Hospital, a community-focused healthcare facility in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented CT/Radiology Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will perform a variety of CT and general radiologic imaging procedures to support accurate diagnosis and high-quality patient care for our diverse patient population. Working closely with physicians, nurses, and fellow technologists, you will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients, operating CT and radiography equipment, and producing high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and patient comfort.
You will greet and assess patients, verify orders and clinical indications, explain procedures in a clear and reassuring manner, and ensure that patients are positioned correctly to obtain optimal images with minimal discomfort. Using your knowledge of anatomy, radiation physics, and imaging protocols, you will select appropriate technical factors, perform CT and X-ray examinations, and adjust techniques to accommodate patient condition, body habitus, and clinical needs. You will follow ALARA principles at all times, use proper shielding and safety practices, and adhere strictly to departmental policies and regulatory standards for radiation protection and infection prevention.
This position involves operating advanced CT scanners and digital radiography systems, performing contrast-enhanced studies as ordered, and monitoring patients for any adverse reactions, intervening and notifying providers as needed. You will review images for diagnostic quality, ensure proper labeling and documentation, and promptly transmit studies through PACS, collaborating with radiologists to address any additional imaging needs. Accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record and imaging systems is essential, including recording patient history, contrast information, dose parameters, and any relevant clinical observations.
As a CT/Radiology Technologist at Baptist Neighborhood Hospital, you will play an active role in our culture of collaboration, compassion, and excellence. You will communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team, contribute to a safe and efficient workflow, assist with patient transfers and positioning, and support emergency and urgent cases when needed. You will help maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked imaging environment, perform routine equipment checks, and promptly report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
The hospital is committed to your professional growth and well-being, offering a supportive environment, opportunities for ongoing training, and exposure to innovative healthcare practices. You will be encouraged to participate in continuing education, cross-training, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance both your technical expertise and patient care skills. This on-site role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support 24/7 patient care.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong technical skills in CT and general radiography, excellent patient communication and customer service, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced or emergency situations. A commitment to patient-centered care, teamwork, and continuous learning is essential to succeed in this position and contribute to the mission of Baptist Neighborhood Hospital.
