Job Description

Baptist Neighborhood Hospital in San Antonio, TX is seeking a skilled and compassionate CT/Radiology Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform a full range of diagnostic CT and radiographic imaging procedures, supporting our physicians and clinical staff in delivering efficient, high-quality, patient-centered care. Working in a fast-paced hospital environment, you will be responsible for safely operating CT and Xray equipment, accurately positioning patients, and producing high-quality diagnostic images that assist in timely clinical decision-making.
As a CT/Radiology Technologist, you will greet and prepare patients for exams, verify patient identification and exam orders, explain procedures in a calm and reassuring manner, and ensure patient comfort and privacy throughout the imaging process. You will apply your knowledge of anatomy, radiation physics, and imaging protocols to perform CT and general radiography exams according to physician orders and established departmental guidelines, adhering at all times to radiation safety and ALARA principles. You will start IV lines and administer contrast agents as appropriate, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and promptly communicate any concerns to the radiologist or attending provider.
You will work collaboratively with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team to ensure exams are prioritized and completed efficiently, particularly in emergency and time-sensitive situations such as trauma, stroke, and critical care cases. You will review images for diagnostic quality, adjust technical factors when needed, and ensure all studies are properly labeled, documented, and transmitted through the PACS and RIS systems. Accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record and adherence to hospital, ACR, and Joint Commission standards will be an essential part of your daily responsibilities.
This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing clinical needs and patient acuity. You will follow strict infection control and safety protocols, assist with patient transfers and positioning, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment. You will also participate in quality improvement initiatives, equipment checks, and routine maintenance reporting to support consistent, reliable imaging services. The role involves rotating shifts, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays to support 24/7 hospital operations.
At Baptist Neighborhood Hospital, you will be part of a culture that emphasizes collaboration, compassion, and excellence. You will be encouraged to pursue continuous professional growth through ongoing training, crosstraining in CT and Xray, and participation in educational opportunities to enhance your skills and stay current with evolving imaging practices. You will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative healthcare practices, support evidence-based protocols, and help shape a patient experience centered on respect, dignity, and personalized care.
The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in radiologic technology, with experience in CT and general radiography in a hospital or emergency setting preferred. You should be comfortable working with diverse patient populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, and be able to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families who may be anxious or in pain. Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a commitment to teamwork are essential, as you will interact closely with clinical colleagues across multiple departments.
This role offers the opportunity to build a meaningful career in a supportive environment that values both clinical excellence and employee well-being. As a CT/Radiology Technologist at Baptist Neighborhood Hospital, you will play a vital part in delivering timely, accurate diagnostic information that directly impacts patient outcomes, while enjoying the resources, mentorship, and growth opportunities of a hospital dedicated to high-quality, community-focused care.PDN-a1b5f009-dccf-47ea-bf9a-82cb1962fc05
