Our agency client is looking for a Design Engineer to translate our new brand guidelines into an updated WordPress website. This is a six to eight week, remote, assignment.

The Deliverable: A visually and technically refined WordPress site that brings the agency's new brand identity to life blending creativity, insight, and innovation to stand out in a sea of sameness.

The ideal Design Engineer combines strong visual design sensibility with hands-on web development skills, able to bring creative ideas, refined UX, and technical precision together to deliver a site that reflects their new positioning: "Wildly Original Gets Results."

You MUST HAVE previous Agency or Creative brand experience AND advanced experience designing and developing WordPress sites.

Scope of Work:
- Collaborate with their brand and creative team to interpret and apply updated brand guidelines (copy, imagery, typography, and tone) to our existing WordPress site.
- Design refreshed page layouts and visual systems that enhance storytelling, clarity, and engagement.
- Develop and implement updates within the current WordPress environment - no full rebuild required!
- Ensure responsive design, accessibility, and optimal performance across devices and browsers.
- Conduct quality assurance testing and support launch.

Technical Requirements and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5+ years of professional UI design and development experience; Agency or Creative brand experience is REQUIRED.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design best practices.
- Advanced experience designing and developing WordPress sites (theme customization, Gutenberg or page builder experience, plugin integration).
- Working knowledge of JavaScript for interactivity and animations.
- Understanding of UX/UI design, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility.
- Familiarity with web performance optimization (speed, SEO, image compression).
- Clean, maintainable code and a collaborative workflow that supports handoff and future updates.
- Strong design portfolio demonstrating both creative and technical skills
- Experience translating brand systems into cohesive, high-performing digital experiences.
