Position Overview
Our client, a well-known retailer in Boston, is looking to hire a freelance Designer to support their Visual Merchandising team for the next 6+ months.

This is a hybrid role that requires you to be onsite in Boston Tues-Thurs.

The Designer will be designing for projects that will impact the development of a dynamic in-store touchpoint strategy. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design visually captivating graphics, signage and promotional materials 
  • Integrate innovative ideas and trends into displays 
  • Translate and adapt designs to various fixture formats and sizes in 3D and 2D
  • Organize and prepare files for final artwork release to vendors
  • Collaborate with teammates and business partners to define project parameters and prepare layouts for production 
  • Apply sense of urgency and focus on priorities, demonstrating strong design composition for regional implementation and production 
  • Prepare delivery packages, checking dielines, dimensions and specs 
  • Utilize VM design and trends to conceptualize, plan and execute impactful in-store executions 
  • Oversee graphics from design to production, including reviewing proofs and providing feedback from cross functional teams 
  • Serve as a create voice for all timelines, proactively addressing potential risks/delays 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a design role with an emphasis on retail/footwear/visual merchandising 
  • A portfolio showcasing your work across print, digital and in-store is a bonus
  • Demonstrated mastery in industry-standard software - Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop - Rhino and 3D software such
    as SketchUp and other relevant tools is a plus
  • Strong print design/production knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to take feedback/direction well
  • Experience working in Asana is a plus 
  • Flexible with a hybrid work schedule (2 days remote, 3 days in the Boston office).

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
