The Divisional Director plays a critical role in recruiting financial advisors to Ameriprise. Working as part of a small team in a defined geographic territory, this position is responsible for moving high-potential financial advisor candidates through the recruiting pipeline.

The ideal candidate brings a dynamic energy and deep understanding of financial advisors-their motivations, challenges, and aspirations. They possess the ability to build meaningful connections and effectively influence advisors, inspiring them to not only engage with Ameriprise but to envision a long-term future with the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Regional Director on recruiting efforts within an assigned territory.

  • Proactively manage your region's talent pipeline by guiding candidates through key stages of the recruiting process-for example, encouraging attendance to VIP following an initial meeting, or re-engaging candidates who have become inactive after initial contact.

  • Effectively engage your sourcing partners to deliver qualified leads for initial advisor meetings, ensuring a steady pipeline of high-potential candidates aligned with Ameriprise's growth strategy.

  • Monitor and confirm contact occurs with each new lead. Maintain direct communication with sourcing partners to ensure there is a next step with every lead.

  • Conduct Initial Meetings with candidates and be prepared to articulate the Ameriprise value proposition, including our client-focused culture, integrated technology, robust support systems, and growth opportunities.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. field leaders, DVPs, transition teams) to ensure a seamless candidate experience.

  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive intelligence, and advisor movement to inform recruiting strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years' relevant experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Series 7

  • Industry certifications e.g. CFP, CRPC

  • Financial Services Industry experience strongly preferred

  • Proactive mindset with the skill for identifying and addressing issues early.

  • Strong understanding of financial advisor community - their motivations, challenges, and aspirations

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously and drive results.

  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, goal-oriented mindset.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $91,600 - $123,700 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
