As an Engineer in our Engineering Department, you'll be part of a team managing heavy civil capital construction projects, reviewing private development projects, executing annual service, maintenance and emergency response contracts, all while interacting with a team of dedicated professionals both internal and external to the City. From inception to construction, you will play a crucial role in turning conceptual plans into tangible and successful construction projects, driving progress, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

The Department of Public Utilities is looking for candidates for civil engineer who not only possess the technical expertise required for the roles of an Engineer but also brings a collaborative and innovative spirit. Your ability to lead, manage, and partner effectively will set you apart. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the drive to make a positive impact, we want to hear from you!

Positions from this posting may be filled as an Engineer I, II or III depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate and the needs of the department at the time of hire. The Engineer I, II and III positions are part of an approved career progression program. In addition, candidates for these positions are eligible for a $3,000.00 sign-on bonus.
