The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the hotel's general ledger operations and supporting the Assistant Director and Director of Finance. Success in this position requires a proactive mindset, strong collaboration with leadership, and exceptional time management skills. The ability to multitask and support both Finance and IT functions is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Director of Finance in supervising Accounts Receivable staff and the Shared Services analyst, ensuring timely collection of payments and proper oversight of AR activities.
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Finance with Accounts Payable duties, including invoice scanning, payment processing, and Birchstreet updates.
  • Manage systems administration, general ledger account reconciliations, and monthly financial closings.
  • Perform General Cashier duties, including daily bank deposits and monthly audits.
  • Facilitate weekly Finance meetings with Sales and Events to monitor PM accounts and ensure timely payments.
  • Provide support for parking and AV commission processes.
  • Update Food & Beverage receipts and collaborate with department managers to review daily reports and monitor the current month’s financial status.
  • Analyze operational productivity, participate in strategic planning, and partner with operations to achieve productivity targets.
  • Monitor daily labor hours and costs in Dimensions and communicate results with department managers and Director of Finance.
  • Regularly analyze the Olympia dashboard, using HPOR and HPC metrics to track performance on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis, with a focus on improving overall hotel productivity.

Qualifications

· Hospitality or Accounting degree preferred

· 2 years or more of progressive Accounting experience, preferably in a hotel

· Prior MICROS, ADP/Enterprise, Dimensions and Hyatt systems (Opera and PMS) expertise desired

· Must be an advanced user of Excel and Microsoft Word

· Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

· Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line

· Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English

· Must have excellent organizational, administrative and problem-solving skill
