The Position
The Fixed Income Macro-Sovereign team is seeking a hard-working, industrious individual to join us as a Sector Specialist. Sector specialist responsibilities include analyzing global capital markets drivers (such as global economic and monetary policy as well as country specific drivers), applying qualitative and quantitative methods to assess economic, institutional and financial factors that relate to country risk. They are also responsible for creating a monthly summary of key developments that impact sovereign valuations, constructing central bank monitors, and will be expected to build local yield curves and currency models for non-US fixed income investments. The sector specialist regularly collaborates with members of the investment team to impact investment decisions.
The sector specialist can expect to interact regularly with analysts, research associates, portfolio managers, and traders, and play an integral role in the investment process. The sector specialist will also work closely with the technology group in defining the scope of research technology needs and ensuring that these initiatives are appropriately prioritized.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who have the following characteristics:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably with a macroeconomic and/or fixed income focus
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Bloomberg and Excel preferred as well as willingness to learn Python, Haver and SQL
- Team oriented, collaborator and relationship builder
- Self-motivated and intellectually curious; proactively seeks additional responsibilities and learning
