Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

The Foundry Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient pre-casting and post-casting functions of the investment casting process to make propellers. Operators will complete tasks like loading and unloading parts for the pouring process and using post-casting equipment and machinery like wheelabrators and sandblasters to prepare propellers for the next production process.

Starting $19.50 per hour with potential for growth based on experience.

Attendance incentives are available up to $160 per two-week period.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read, follow, and complete work instructions and paperwork related to daily schedules
  • Learn and rotate among all pre and post cast processes using various forms of equipment and machinery
  • Carefully inspect parts for anomalies that require a quality review
  • Complete 5S tasks in the work area
  • Keeps safety a top priority and follows all instructions precisely to ensure safety of the team
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines
  • Additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED/High School equivalency
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work within a team setting and collaborate with team members
  • Ability to read gauges pertaining to temperature and alarms
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Basic math and reasoning ability
  • Ability to stand and hold 40+ pound parts and lift them to a shoulder level height
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures
  • Must be a team player
