Location: Atlanta, GA 30308

Pay Rate: $24/hour

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy GIS Technician to support two dynamic engineering teams. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with foundational GIS training and a passion for data integrity and visualization. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining GIS database accuracy and contributing to the development of Power BI dashboards that support engineering decision-making.

• GIS Database Support (75%):
  • Assist in managing, updating, and validating GIS databases.
  • Ensure spatial and tabular data integrity across multiple engineering projects.
  • Perform data entry, editing, and quality control using ESRI tools.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure geospatial data meets project requirements.
• Power BI Dashboard Development (25%):
  • Support the creation and maintenance of interactive dashboards using Power BI.
  • Integrate GIS data into visual reports to support engineering analysis and reporting.
  • Assist in identifying trends and insights through data visualization.
• General Duties:
  • Attend training sessions to enhance proficiency in GIS and data visualization tools.
  • Document workflows and maintain metadata for datasets.
  • Provide technical support to GIS Analysts and engineers as needed.

1. ESRI Suite (ArcGIS, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, etc.) – Strong familiarity with GIS software for data management and map creation.
2. Power BI – Experience building or supporting dashboards and visual reports.
3. Microsoft Excel – Proficient in data manipulation, formatting, and analysis.

• Basic understanding of spatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, geodatabases).
• Exposure to scripting languages (Python, SQL) for GIS automation.
• Experience with GPS data collection and integration.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
