Course Description
The Department of Sociology is seeking to hire GSIs for the Fall 2025 term. Please see the course guide for discussion times and locations. Placements will not be finalized until mid/late July, and offer-letters will be sent out around that time.

- Sociology 210 ? Introduction to Statistics for Social Science (Ybarra) ? 2 positions available @ .50 Fraction
- Sociology 225 ? Project Community (Christensen) ? 1 position @ .50 Fraction
- Sociology 302 ? Introduction to Sociology: Health & Society (Fogleman) ? 1 position @ .50 Fraction
- Sociology 354 ? Law & Society (Levitsky) ? 2 positions @ .50 Fraction
- Sociology 475 ? Health, Medicine and Society (Anspach) ? 1 position @ .50 Fraction

Attend lectures and assist instructor in preparing course materials. To be considered for this position, you must be a University of Michigan graduate student in good standing, taking at least 6 credit hours in the term you are applying for. LSA student enrolled in a graduate program. Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes. Considerations include academic qualifications and prior teaching experience, as well as course preference. The Sociology Department will make reasonable effort to extend offers within 3 weeks after the application due date. If offered a GSI position, the deadline to respond to offer letters is one week from the distribution date of the letter. Applicants may request the status of their application from the Sociology Department. Applications are reviewed and positions are assigned by the Undergraduate Office, in consultation with the Undergraduate Director. Considerations include academic qualifications and prior teaching experience, as well as course preference. The Sociology Department will make reasonable effort to extend offers within 3 weeks after the application due date.
