The Industry Specialist (IBCM) supports end-to-end deal origination and execution for technical investment banking mandates. Requires combining investment banking acumen with hands-on subject matter expertise to advise clients on important, highly technical transactions. Responsible for overseeing technical diligence in partnership with investment banking coverage officers to identify, pitch, and execute technical advisory mandates.

The role leverages a strong technical background to perform analyses specific to the industry vertical covered. This senior role may manage a team of technical analysts/engineers/data scientists in the creation and refinement of CIMs, pitch books, and data-room presentations. In addition, this role provides strategic thought leadership for the practice, positioning the firm as a top-tier advisor with subject matter credibility in the space.

Additional responsibilities on internal client management duties as specified by manager and team.

1. Works closely with senior banking professionals, product specialists, clients and other internal and external constituencies to help drive business growth.
2. Responsible for gaining understanding of client's strategy, financial objectives, risk tolerance and desired outcomes / metrics of success
3. Responsible for winning Capital Markets and Banking solutions or other advisory services that align with client's strategic and financial objectives based on banker's knowledge of sector and client
4. Additional responsibilities on internal client management duties as specified by manager and team.

Required Qualifications:

1. BA/BS degree
2. Licenses: Series 79, 63
3. 12-14 years of related work experience
4. Experience in leading the execution of an extensive variety of client transactions covering the full advisory and capital raising spectrum
5. Advanced knowledge of industry, market, and products
6. Proven ability to develop, nurture and monetize “trusted advisor” client relationships with senior executives
7. Advanced analytical and technical skills combined with a problem solving attitude
8. Excellent interpersonal style, good listening skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely
9. Strong partnering and leadership skills in a complex, matrixed environment

Preferred Requirements

1. MBA degree, with a Finance focus, or equivalent advanced technical degree
2. 14-16 years of related work experience
3. 6-8 years of management experience

- The annual base salary for this position in New York is $200,000
