Job Description
The Industrial Engineering Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here in Palmdale. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include:
• Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently
• Build scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints
• Execute different continuous improvement practices to help identify bottlenecks, excessive wait times or waste within the manufacturing floor
• Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints
• Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools
• Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams
• Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers
• Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies
• Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies
• Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance
Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer (Level 2):
• Bachelor's degree with 1 year of technical and/or engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master's degree with 0 years of experience
• Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret level security clearance and special program access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
• Ability to travel at least 10%
Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer (Level 3):
• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of technical and/or engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master's degree with 3 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a PHD degree with 0 years of experience
• Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret level security clearance and special program access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
• Ability to travel at least 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
• STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree preferred
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
• At least 2 years of demonstrated experience leading project teams
• Experience with SQL, VBA, or other programming languages
• Experience with improving manufacturing workflow using optimization, modeling, or simulation methods
• Experience with agile methods of project management or development
• Strong experience designing visualizations in Tableau in a professional work environment
Salary Range: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00Salary Range 2: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
