Intern - Digital Strategy

Summary
Our 10-week internship offers a comprehensive and immersive experience for students interested in gaining practical knowledge and skills in the banking industry. Each week, you will be exposed to different leaders and aspects of the line of business. You will have the opportunity to complete projects that will help you understand the day-to-day operations of a bank and develop a well-rounded skill set. Additionally, you will have the chance to receive guidance from experienced professionals in the field, participate in meetings, and network with other interns and associates. By the end of the program, you will have gained valuable insights, built a solid foundation in banking practices, and potentially set the stage for future career opportunities at First Horizon.
We’re looking for a highly motivated and intellectually curious Digital Strategy Summer Analyst to support the Digital Strategy team as we build the future of digital at First Horizon Bank. This role will report directly to the Digital Strategy Manager and work closely with broader digital, product, and analytics teams.
The Summer Analyst will play a hands-on role in strategy development, research, analysis, and executive communications. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in digital strategy, consulting, product, or fintech to gain meaningful exposure in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment. Interns will be expected to think critically, work independently, and contribute real value to priority initiatives throughout the summer.
Work schedule and number of hours worked per week (minimum: 25 hours) are flexible, within normal business hours.
The Intern will learn and assist with the day-to-day duties of the members of the Digital Strategy team, including:
Strategy & Analytical Support
- Support the Digital Strategy Manager in developing strategic insights, analyses, and recommendations related to digital banking and mobile products.
- Conduct market, competitive, and customer research to inform strategic decisions.
- Assist with building and supporting business cases, financial models, and scenario analyses for new initiatives or investments.
- Help synthesize complex data into clear takeaways and implications for leadership.
Executive & Leadership Enablement
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and materials for executive stakeholders, including strategy readouts, leadership updates, and working sessions.
- Help maintain and update core strategy and communication artifacts, such as roadmap summaries, dashboards, or initiative trackers.
Program & Operating Cadence Support
- Support cross-functional coordination by helping track milestones, risks, and interdependencies across digital initiatives.
- Assist in organizing inputs and outputs for operating rhythms such as reviews, checkpoints, and planning sessions.
- Identify opportunities to improve how information is organized, tracked, or communicated.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, analytics, computer science, or a related field. with anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027
- GPA of 2.75 or above
- Strategic and critical thinking skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to structure ambiguous problems.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, including basic financial modeling and charting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, curiosity, and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Interest in the career fields of consulting, strategy, finance, technology, or product.
- Interest in the domains of digital products, fintech, consumer technology, or banking.
- Experience working with data, dashboards, or customer insights.
- Familiarity with strategy frameworks or structured problem-solving approaches.
