Job Description Summary
The Inventory Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring inventory accuracy, optimization, and traceability across all business units, third-party warehouses, and manufacturing sites. This position is responsible for developing and implementing robust inventory management strategies, conducting both daily and monthly reconciliations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and drive continuous improvement. Success in this role requires advanced analytical and systems expertise to support the seamless flow of goods, effective ERP/WMS integrations, and key financial and audit processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a keen attention to detail, and proven experience managing inventory in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inventory Reconciliation & Reporting (40%)
- Oversee daily and monthly reconciliation of finished goods and packaging materials across multiple systems (ERP, WMS, S4, VIF, CHEP).
- Collaborate with IT, Plant, Warehousing, and Finance to investigate and resolve any discrepancies efficiently.
- Ensure accuracy and traceability of all inventory records and movements, providing robust support for both internal and external audits.
- Inventory Control Process Optimization (25%)
- Develop and implement targeted inventory management strategies and digital tools to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to existing inventory processes.
- Financial Alignment & Compliance (15%)
- Partner closely with the Finance team to reconcile inventory valuation and movement, ensuring timely completion of month-end close.
- Sustain thorough compliance documentation and provide support for traceability requests.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management (10%)
- Act as the primary inventory liaison for Logistics, Planning, Finance, Quality, and external partners.
- Lead or actively participate in continuous improvement projects, with a focus on system integration and process efficiency.
- Returns, Non-Conformance, CHEP, and Sub-Contracting (10%)
- Manage inventory-related returns and non-conformance reporting (NCR).
- Oversee CHEP reporting and coordinate co-pack movement processes.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in inventory management, supply chain operations, or logistics; experience with ERP systems (such as SAP S4), third-party warehouse integrations, and process improvement initiatives is preferred.
- Proficient in advanced data and process analytics, leveraging Excel and ERP/WMS reporting tools to identify trends, drive process enhancements, and deliver actionable insights.
- Strong technical acumen in systems integration, with the ability to manage data interfaces (including IDOCs, PO processes, and S4 movement types) and promptly resolve integration errors to ensure seamless operations.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions, communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, and show leadership in supporting continuous development and team alignment.
- Highly detail-oriented and proactive in problem solving; ensures inventory records are complete, accurate, and fully traceable, and initiates corrective actions when discrepancies arise.
- Experienced in project and change management, able to champion continuous improvement initiatives, manage competing priorities, and adapt strategies within a rapidly evolving supply chain environment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed largely in an office environment. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week. At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns. Up to 5% business travel may be required.
