Job Title: Junior Electrical Engineer – Electrical (Infrastructure Upgrade Project)
Location: Pensacola, FL (Onsite Only)
Employment Type: Contract with possibility for extension or conversion
Pay: up to $37/hr
Project Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering to support a high-impact infrastructure upgrade project at a critical industrial facility near Pensacola, Florida. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, working alongside experienced engineers and project managers on the relocation and redesign of motor control centers (MCCs) that are vital to plant operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, layout, and relocation of motor control centers (MCCs) and associated electrical systems.
- Support the coordination of field activities, including site surveys, equipment assessments, and installation planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, civil, and controls engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Review and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and documentation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving field issues as they arise.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in electrical design, construction, or industrial project support.
- Familiarity with motor control centers (MCCs), power distribution, and industrial electrical systems is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools is preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work onsite daily and adapt to a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
- Must be local to the Pensacola, FL area or willing to relocate at own expense.
- Be part of a mission-critical infrastructure project that directly impacts plant performance and reliability.
- Gain valuable experience in field engineering and project execution.
