PURPOSE: 
This role is primarily remote with occasional in office team meetings. Provides advanced expertise in developing and maintaining reports, dashboards and data repositories to meet the business intelligence requirements of the organization.  Provides data, analysis and requirements in support of a complex reporting and analytics environment.  Serves as a subject matter expert in projects related to the data analysis and reporting tools technology.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Fulfill complex regulatory reporting requirements by understanding the external request and working with IT and business resources to provide CareFirst data into mandated reporting within required timelines.
  • Develops client/customer presentations and reports with a high degree of a more complex nature.  May develop innovative best practices and industry bench marking for process measurement and identify indicators for future improvement opportunities.
  • Adjusts rapidly to shifts in priorities and manages multiple tasks simultaneously that may include staff support relating to current operations.  Applies a depth of knowledge, skills, and abilities to research and to conduct process analysis and studies.
  • Assists in the facilitation of process improvement efforts and in customer requirements, knowledge sharing/transfer, work group brainstorming, and focus group sessions. Attends functional meetings. Creates briefings and focused customer presentations. Documents the customer requirements and business processes.
  • Strong technical and analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot to solve a variety of problems.
  • Requires strong organizational and communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Able to effectively provide direction to and lead technical teams.
  • Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
  • Serves as a mentor and/or resource to junior or senior level Reporting Analysts.
  • Translates business system processes and requirements into Use Case scenarios.  Conducts analysis and provides expert counsel to client in respective business area of expertise.  May analyze business and technical processes to formulate, develop, and implement new and modified processes and policies.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience: 8 years reporting analysis and/or data management


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Project Management .
  • Proven track record of turning data into meaningful analysis, presenting to business stakeholders, and driving value for compliance.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory processes, public policy analysis and reporting requirements.
  • Experience in healthcare industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the healthcare payor industry, insurance products, and regulation. 
  • Knowledge of CareFirst operations, claims systems, and policies.
  • Microsoft Power BI and Power BI Report Builder.
  • Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, Power Query). 
  • PowerPoint (advanced executive presentations).
  • Understanding of data visualization best practices and storytelling with data.
  • Strong communication and data documentation skills. 
  • Curiosity and problem-solving mindset with attention to data quality and integrity.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Strong research and investigative skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Salary Range: $78,984 - $156,871
