Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Manager General Manufacturing 2 based in Sunnyvale, CA.
What you will get to do:

• Supervise production control and material handling personnel moving material via various types of material handling equipment.

• Responsible for the direct supervision/management of approximately 18 hourly employees to meet contract delivery requirements.

• Responsible for providing direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies

• Supervise Coordinators and Material Handling personnel to ensure compliance with shop instructions, i.e. drawings, programs, tooling, manufacturing methods and QA documents with emphasis on production control.

• Lead, guide, and direct the efforts of the team with the highest regard to safety and budget goals, which requires a fundamental understanding of the lean principals.

• Work with program managers to plan and level load program hours; addressing cost, material and production order release schedules.

• Provide direction to subordinates based on general policies and management guidance. Review work for adequacy in meeting objectives. Full working knowledge of procedures and practices. Ensure compliance with Company Policies, Procedures and Shop Paper Handbook.

• Interpret and execute policies and procedures issues by recommending solutions for production control and Interface and navigate with MRP (material requirements planning) and MES (manufacturing execution system).

• Instill strong manufacturing practices in housekeeping set forth by Environmental Health and Safety and Fire Protection Departments.

• Apply the Union and Company agreement to ensure compliance with the Company Policies and Procedures.

• This is a three-shift facility and the candidate selected will direct second shift personnel.

The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills and will be available during off time, or on weekends, as needed.
Basic Qualifications for the Manager General Manufacturing 2:

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant manufacturing experience; OR a Master's degree 6 or more years of relevant manufacturing experience; OR a PhD and 4 or more years of relevant manufacturing experience (4 additional years of relevant manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in production control and material handling.
• Supervisory and/or leadership experience.
• Experience with an MRP\MES system.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
• US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications for the Manager General Manufacturing 2:

• Heavy manufacturing experience
• Aerospace industry experience
• Process experience
• Experience in a union environment
• Experience managing hourly employees
Primary Level Salary Range: $121,100.00 - $181,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
