Location: MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick

Bi-weekly Hours: 48.00

Shift: 7a-7:30p/ 7p-7:30a; Rotating Weekends and Holidays

All Acute Care Adult Specialty units offer enhanced technology to assist with nursing care, including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and telemetry monitoring capability.

Primary Patient Population:

  • Trauma


Primary skills utilized/learned:

  • Vital Signs, cardiac monitoring, trauma care
  • Complex wound care & psychosocial care
  • Answering call lights and assisting patients as needed
  • Time management, critical thinking


Personnel RN will work with:

  • LPNs, Registered Nurses, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN, Social Work


Number of beds on unit:

  • 34 beds (14 private rooms, 10 semi-private rooms)


Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

  • Multi-time PRISM Award winner
  • Team Daisy Award Winner

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
  • Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (NOTE: Maintaining ODH Registry status as a STNA is optional after employment in this position).
  • 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
