Job Description

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 4-10 hours shifts, 830 pm to 630 am

Summary:


Performs comprehensive sleep testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of a registered sleep technologist and/or the medical director or designee. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Meets one of the following: • Completed the A-Step Program 80-hour introductory course with certificate. • Completed training in a polysomnographic program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option. • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Has completed one of the following: o The A-Step Program 80-hour introductory course with certificate. o Training in a sleep add-on track program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). o Training in a sleep add-on program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). Obtains one of the following Registered credentials within two (2) years of employment: • Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) • Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) Meets continuing education requirements as established by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of hire. Reliable transportation to travel to any assigned MetroHealth Sleep Center. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Word and Excel. Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
