Job Description

Product Operations Lead

Position Overview
Our client is a well-established consumer financial services company undergoing a large-scale digital and product transformation. They are building new ways of working across Product, Design, Engineering, and Go-to-Market teams and are hiring a Product Operations Lead to help scale product excellence and measurable impact across the organization.

This  is a hybrid opportunity, onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in New York, NY, Wilmington, DE, Baltimore, MD, or Dallas/Irving, TX.

The Product Operations Lead will focus on building the systems, partnerships, and visibility that enable teams to consistently deliver high-quality product outcomes that drive customer retention and growth. This role is highly hands-on and fluid-one day focused on documentation and workflows, another on training and enablement, and another on experimenting with GenAI tools to redefine how Product, Design, and Engineering operate in an AI-enabled environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Operating Model & Delivery Excellence
    • Establish, evolve, and scale the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC), ensuring delivery is efficient, repeatable, and outcome-driven.
    • Design and implement scalable product management workflows, tools, and rituals that improve execution quality, reduce delivery friction, and enable PMs to operate with greater autonomy.
    • Own and improve product tooling and workflows (e.g., Jira, Confluence, analytics, experimentation platforms), including assessing current usage and driving meaningful improvements.
    • Build operational systems that improve predictability, velocity, and delivery consistency across teams.
  • Strategic Alignment & Cross-Functional Partnership
    • Drive strategic alignment across Product, Engineering, Design, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
    • Ensure high-priority initiatives are clearly defined, well-sequenced, and delivered faster with greater business impact.
    • Act as a connective layer across functions, improving communication, prioritization, and shared understanding of outcomes.
    • Partner closely with product leaders to align roadmaps with business goals and customer needs.
  • Customer Insights & Discovery Enablement
    • Build and operationalize customer feedback and discovery frameworks that connect field insights to product strategy and roadmaps.
    • Ensure customer insights from research, analytics, and frontline teams are consistently synthesized and accessible to Product Managers.
    • Enable product teams to translate insights into action, driving measurable improvements in adoption, retention, and customer satisfaction.
  • Measurement, Visibility & Outcomes
    • Establish outcome measurement and reporting systems that clearly track product success and business impact.
    • Define and operationalize OKRs, delivery metrics, and velocity tracking, connecting execution to growth, retention, and product quality.
    • Create visibility into wins and learnings, ensuring success is measurable, repeatable, and celebrated across the organization.
    • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • GenAI, Enablement & Change Management
    • Experiment with and integrate GenAI-enabled tools into product workflows to improve efficiency, insight generation, and delivery speed.
    • Help define what it means to be a Product Manager, Designer, or Engineer in an AI-enabled world.
    • Develop playbooks, training, and enablement programs to support adoption of new tools, processes, and operating models.
    • Support change management efforts during an ongoing, large-scale transformation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Product Operations, Product Delivery, or Product Management within a technology-driven organization.
  • Strong preference for candidates who have transitioned from Product Manager to Product Operations.
  • Proven experience building systems, processes, and partnerships that enable high-quality product delivery at scale.
  • Demonstrated success aligning cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing) around shared priorities and outcomes.
  • Experience designing and scaling product workflows, operating models, and delivery rituals.
  • Hands-on experience operationalizing customer discovery, feedback loops, and insight sharing across product teams.
  • Strong background in outcome measurement, including OKRs, product metrics, and executive-level reporting.
  • Familiarity with GenAI tools, workflow automation, or AI-assisted product workflows.
  • Deep experience with Jira, Confluence, and modern product tooling ecosystems.
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats across strategy, operations, tooling, enablement, and analytics.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-influencing skills.
  • Background in financial services or technology preferred.
  • Experience in product-led organizations or similar environments is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
