Grid Strategy and Solutions: Project Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

To meet growing electricity demand, we’re deploying emerging technologies and strategically investing in our grid to ensure reliable, affordable service for our customers.

The Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting Georgia Power’s Strategic Projects within Grid Strategy and Solutions. This position will provide support for power delivery and other organizations related to regulatory and federal compliance and emerging technology for the grid. More specifically, this position will provide support to project managers on the team, while owning responsibility for the coordination of logistics, compliance, and reporting deliverables, while facilitating communication across internal teams and external agencies. In addition, this position will support the evaluation and identification of strategic funding opportunities that may accelerate the potential deployment of new technologies, including the evaluation of emerging technologies helping to modernize grid infrastructure and improve system reliability.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct support in the execution of federally funded transmission and grid modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. 
  • Provide direct support in regulatory initiatives related to power delivery, which may include coordinating, tracking, or responding to data requests and other related activities to support regulatory proceedings. 
  • Generating and compiling accurate reports, including financial reporting, organization of project documents, and documenting process improvements. 
  • Track and organize compliance and reporting deliverables, ensuring timely submission to regulatory agencies and funding partners. 
  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration among internal and external project teams.
  • Assist in the identification, evaluation, and pursuit of strategic funding opportunities, which may include federal grants and loans to potentially accelerate deployment of new grid technologies. 
  • Support the evaluation and integration of emerging grid technologies, contributing to the modernization of grid infrastructure. 
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all project activities, compliance requirements, and funding applications. 
  • Monitor project progress, performance metrics, and deadlines, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks or issues.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in business, economics, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory or federal processes and procedures preferred. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to internal and external audiences. 
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills to manage complex reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable, budgeting, or financial planning processes and reporting systems preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment.
  • Proven project management skills, preferably in energy infrastructure, grid technologies, or regulatory environments.
  • Understanding of transmission & distribution systems, grid-enhancing technologies, and emerging energy solutions preferred.
