Job Description
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) in The MetroHealth System (MHS) is seeking a Rehabilitation Psychologist to provide inpatient and outpatient management of adults following acquired neurologic conditions and injuries. The psychologist will be an integral member of our inpatient interdisciplinary rehabilitation team and work closely with the team to coordinate optimal rehabilitation. The psychologist will provide ambulatory psychological services to patients with acquired neurologic conditions/injuries to optimize adjustment and coping, including but not limited to management of adults following moderate to severe TBI, concussion, stroke, neurodegenerative disease, seizure disorder, spinal cord injury, amputation, burn injury, and various musculoskeletal conditions/injuries including chronic pain. The candidate will have an opportunity to contribute to rehabilitation psychology program expansion including group, individual and family modalities. Academic opportunities include protected research time for qualified candidates, including efforts towards our federally designated SCI Model System Center, as well as our pursuit of TBI Model System designation, and teaching and supervision of medical students, interns, residents, and fellows in the Departments of PM&R and Psychiatry.

The psychologist will join our growing team of 6 faculty members within the Division of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology.
Qualified applicants will have a doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA/CPA accredited program and have completed an APA/CPA accredited pre-doctoral internship program. Preferred applicants will have pre-doctoral training in rehabilitation, health psychology, or neuropsychology, including experience working with acquired neurologic injuries/conditions in an interdisciplinary team model. Post-doctoral fellowship training in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
