Rate Range:

$100,000 – $120,000 annual salary (based on experience)

Position Overview:

Apex Systems is seeking a Scrum Master on behalf of a leading insurance technology partner. This is a fully onsite role in either Melbourne, FL or Irving, TX. The ideal candidate is a servant leader with a deep understanding of Agile principles and a passion for empowering development teams. You’ll play a key role in facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing obstacles, and driving continuous improvement across teams.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities / Typical Day Look Like:

• Direct project scope and timelines to ensure alignment and timely delivery
• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies
• Coach team members on Agile frameworks and best practices
• Foster internal communication and collaboration across teams
• Partner with Product Owners to manage backlogs and prioritize work
• Identify and remove blockers to maintain team productivity
• Support teams in implementing process improvements
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards at the end of each sprint
• Guide teams toward higher levels of Scrum maturity
• Cultivate a positive, productive environment where teams take ownership and thrive

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in a Scrum Master or similar Agile role
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of software development processes
• Expertise in Scrum techniques and artifacts (user stories, definition of done, backlog refinement, etc.)
• Familiarity with other Agile frameworks (e.g., Crystal, XP)
• Excellent communication and servant leadership skills
• Proven conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities

Plusses:

• Experience with full stack development (SQL, REST Services, C# .NET Core, Bootstrap, Vue.js)
• Prior experience in insurance or financial services
• Passion for team coaching and Agile maturity
• Ability to thrive in structured, deadline-driven environments
