Senior Applications Programmer

Location: Onsite in Quantico, VA office.

Direct Hire / Full Time Role

Pay: $160,000 - $170,000 Annually

Required:

  • Candidates must have an active DoD Secret or Top Secret Level Clearance to be considered
  • MA/MS in Information Technology with concentration on software development and 5 years’ experience OR BA/BS in Information Technology with concentration on software development and 10 years’ experience.
  • Must have one of the following valid security related certifications:(can obtain within 60 days of start): CISSP-ISSAP, CSSLP, GSEC.
  • Must have one of the following valid technology area certifications: (can obtain within 60 days of start) Azure Database Administrator Associate, Data Science of America Senior Data Scientist (SDS), Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Security Operations Analyst Associate, Cybersecurity Architect, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Data Fundamentals, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Power Platform Fundamentals, Azure Data Scientist Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure AI Engineer Associate, or AI Engineer Associate (365).


Duties include:

  • Responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, debugging, and implementing software. Troubleshoots production problems relating to software applications.
  • Research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on government requirements.
  • Analyze information to recommend, design, and plan development of new applications or modify existing ones.
  • Apply coding and testing standards, security testing tools including "fuzzing" static-analysis code scanning tools, and conduct code reviews.
  • Design, develop, and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure the outcome and consequence of design.
  • Determine and document software patches or the extent of releases that would leave software vulnerable.
  • Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to ensure the desired information is produced and instructions and security levels are correct.
  • Develop secure code, error handling, software system testing, validation procedures, programming, and documentation. \\
  • Perform feasibility analysis on potential future project to management.
  • Resolve problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Instruct, assign, direct, and check the work of other software developers on the development team.
  • Participate in the development of software user manuals.
  • Translate security requirements into application design elements including documenting the elements of the software attack surfaces, conducting threat modeling, and defining any specific security criteria and addressing security implications in the software acceptance phase including completion criteria, risk acceptance and documentation, common criteria, and methods of independent testing.
