National Grid is hiring a Senior Data Analyst. This hybrid position can sit in either our Syracuse NY, Melville NY or Millbury MA office.

Job Purpose

US Technical Training strives to be datadriven in how and when training is delivered to the business. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will become a highly experienced user of the Learning Management System (LMS) and provide key analytics that maximize client value and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. You'll use your problemsolving skills to develop meaningful KPIs and partner with training leaders to shape the measurement strategy for the organization.


You'll play a pivotal role in maturing US Technical Training's measurement strategy-owning the KPI reporting engine, advancing Power BI dashboards, and partnering with leaders to ensure that metrics reflect operational realities and regulatory obligations. Recent scorecard work has focused on utilization measures and the evolution of target/threshold logic; this role will help standardize those measures and improve insight delivery across the team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Own KPI reporting for the US Technical Training internal and external scorecards; maintain the cadence, quality, and accuracy of measures and commentary.
  • Design, build, Power BI dashboards that summarize and visualize data for executive and operational decisionmaking. including systems like LMS.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze all available outputs turning raw data into actionable insights for planning, delivery, and compliance.
  • Partner with training leaders to refine KPI frameworks and align thresholds/targets to business priorities.
  • Translate findings into concise narratives and recommendations; socialize results with stakeholders and incorporate feedback into the KPI strategy.
  • Be able to work cross functionally with US and Global Teams.
  • Support teams within Technical Training around other continuous improvement, benchmarking and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

  • Advanced Power BI and Excel skills (required).
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and strong written/verbal communication skills; able to develop effective relationships at all levels.
  • Proven analytical capability; able to quickly assess information, make decisions, and meet critical deadlines in a fastmoving environment.
  • Competent at providing guidance and instruction to others when needed.
  • Able to work in a fast moving, changing environment.
  • Familiarity metrics and KPI target/threshold frameworks preferred.
  • Expert proficiency in Excel and Power BI for data modeling, visualization, and automation.
  • Experience with Power Automate to streamline data refreshes and workflow handoffs (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex datasets, distill trends, and navigate ambiguity to uncover drivers and insights.
  • Comfortable building KPI dashboards and reporting mechanisms tied to the multiple systems, including LMS

Salary

Upstate NY $107,000 - $128,000 a year

Downstate NY $129,000 - $155,000 a year
