Position: Senior Director, New Product Planning (NPP) - Neuroscience
This position offers a candidate the opportunity to significantly contribute to the long-term commercial success of the portfolio. This position is responsible for leading clinical development stage programs towards commercial success through market assessments and effective interactions across multiple functions. This is role will work a hybrid weekly office schedule in our Waltham location.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Lead development of forward-looking strategies, market positioning and product profiles for neuroscience pipeline products by synthesizing primary and secondary inputs that inform the development and lifecycle plan
Co-lead (with development colleague) product teams through clinical development phases, working in conjunction with internal business partners (e.g. clinical, translational medicine, regulatory, research, commercial, CMC) to optimize the market value of asset
Lead commercialization readiness efforts for late-stage assets, working with commercial and development colleagues
Oversee and drive completion of NPP and market research initiatives that provide value-added insights to the pipeline programs
Track, understand, and communicate the therapeutic market trends across multiple perspectives (e.g. commercial, managed markets, clinical, and scientific)
Proactively monitor and generate insights from market developments and competitive landscape and incorporate insights into product development effort
Generate market assessments, TPPs, and early forecasts to prioritize commercial indications for products in key therapeutic areas
Qualifications
Basic Requirements and Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced science degree preferred
10+ years of pharmaceutical industry and/or consulting experience with extensive experience in commercially oriented roles, e.g. NPP, specialty pharmaceutical marketing strategy, market research
- Experience in neuroscience strongly preferred
Extensive knowledge of new product development and planning/commercialization, including understanding of therapeutic markets from multiple customer perspectives (e.g., HCP, Payers, Patients) and different business perspectives (e.g., clinical, R&D, marketing)
Preferred Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Strong ability to communicate, influence, and gain consensus across multiple functions (e.g. research, clinical, regulatory, translational medicine)
Leadership presence and ability to interact effectively with multiple levels of the organization
Proactive identification of opportunities and challenges and development of thoughtful action plan
Significant analytic skills, able to clearly interpret and distill scientific, clinical and commercial information
Understanding of key marketing and market research principles
Proficiency with secondary research and databases
Excellent organization, communication (written and oral) and facilitation skills
Self-motivated, builds trust easily and operates with integrity and ethics
Strong history of delivering high quality, sustainable results using skills and capabilities
Ability to work a hybrid weekly office schedule in our Waltham office
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel to conferences (~10%)
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $248,,000 to $273,000. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual performance pay bonus.
