Role Overview
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to provide day-to-day operations and project support for our infrastructure, with a focus on the GRID environment and cloud product offerings. This role involves shift and weekend coverage, developing and deploying automated workflows, and delivering solutions that integrate various technologies. The position requires a local candidate for a hybrid work model, with three days onsite per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily operations and project support for infrastructure, primarily the GRID environment.
- Participate in shift and weekend coverage schedules.
- Develop, test, and deploy automated workflows to support IT business functions.
- Research and implement process or technology improvements.
- Offer technical guidance and expert consultation for complex automation workflows.
- Deliver comprehensive technical documentation for all completed projects.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git and Jenkins.
- Design, develop, and test new and existing configuration management infrastructure as code using Terraform.
Education: A minimum of a 4-year degree in computer science or equivalent experience is required.
Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years in infrastructure or software engineering/development is required. This includes a minimum of 6 years of experience with Python and Ansible, and a minimum of 6 years with Shell/Bash/Ksh. Candidates must have exposure to large enterprise grid deployments or cloud integration.
Technical Skills:
- Primary Skill: Python
- Secondary Skill: Ansible
- Tertiary Skill: TLM (Transaction Lifecycle Management)
- Experience with Go, XML, XSLT, SOAP, RESTful, and SQL.
- Proficiency with command-line interfaces (CLI) and third-party API integration.
- Knowledge of Linux, Windows, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with Azure/AWS platforms and related automation.
- Experience creating and maintaining automations using SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in system, network, security, and database operations.
- Knowledge of core IT applications such as DNS, Active Directory, Kerberos, and SMTP.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with web programming languages and database design (SQL).
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git), virtualization, and cloud frameworks.
- Server administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server.
- Understanding of engineering for scale in large environments (50k+ servers).
- Familiarity with Microsoft PowerShell development.
- Experience with Agile development methodology, including SCRUM and DevOps.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $65.00 to $70.24 per hour. Please note that this pay range is a good faith estimate that may be refined with further data and is dependent on the candidate's experience and qualifications. A benefits package is available to eligible employees.
