Special Procedures RN (MNA) Adult Urgent Care - Kenmore - Per diem
Job Description
SUMMARY
We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team supporting Adult Urgent Care for our Kenmore practice location of Atrius Health. This is a per diem position.
As a team member, the Registered Nurse supporting the Urgent Care specialty practice provides direct nursing support and management to a clinical team that includes RNs, LPNs, Medical Assistants, Advanced Practice Clinicians and Physicians, recognizing the patient as the central focus. The RN monitors acutely ill or injured patients during the patient visit, provides appropriate telephone triage and advice for patients experiencing acute problems, supports the management of patient follow up care, performs a variety of procedures that are within the scope of the professional nursing practice, provides day-to-day oversight for clinical support staff, and acts as a member of the site's Medical Emergency Response Code team. The RN will work closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing to ensure clinical safety and compliance.
Education: Graduate of a state approved school of nursing, BSN preferred. Must maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification and ACLS certification.
Skills and Experience:
Requires a current/valid license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Minimum of two years of experience required in direct urgent care, Internal Medicine or Emergency nursing. Proficient in IV insertion and medication administration in addition to other technical skills commonly utilized in the Urgent Care and Emergency setting. Direct experience with EPIC is a plus. Excellent communication skills required with an ability to work in a fast paced environment
Under the direction of the Department Chief, Nurse Leader or designee, this registered professional nurse provides practice support to a clinical team, recognizing the patient as the central focus, providing age appropriate nursing care to patients across the lifespan. This position is responsible for effective care delivery and management of patient care within a specialty, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to current standards of nursing practice. Communicates and coordinates effectively with all entities involved in the care of the patient to promote safe, high quality care. Makes decisions reflecting critical thinking and evidence based nursing practice
