Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Accountant to join our Finance team in Cypress, CA. The Sr. Accountant will serve as a key resource for the global organization and provide financial oversight to ensure that the integrity of the financial records is complete, accurate and comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The Sr. Accountant supports the global accounting team with a wide variety of functions to include operational oversight, transactional processing oversight, preparation of financial statements, audit support and the continued implementation of financial and compliance controls.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assume responsibility for the preparation of the Global quarterly financial statements and control over the issuance of the Global Financial Services annual financial statements.
  • Assist the Statutory Manager in establishing, monitoring, and enforcing global IFRS policies and procedures specific to financial services
  • The Sr. Accountant monitors and confirms the financial condition of all global entities by conducting random audits and reviews, in conjunction with the preparation of the YMC Reporting Package, to ensure compliance with IFRS standards.
  • The Sr. Accountant fully supports external audits as to ensure quality and timely delivery of the Global financial statements
  • Decision-Making Responsibility (describe the degree of autonomy and authority in project/work activities and supervision expectations)
  • Employee will be directed as to the tasks to be completed from the Statutory Accounting Manager and from time to time from the Controller and/or the executive team.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance required, MBA a plus.
  • IFRS experience desired
  • CPA, required, Big 4 or large regional CPA firm experience, a plus.
  • 6+ years of accounting, required, financial services experience, a plus.
  • Experience working with multi-national companies a plus.
  • Excellent technical/data mining abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, and Business Objects; Oracle, SAP a plus.

Pay:

$71,000 to $135,000

Yamaha intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related experience. Base pay is part of Yamaha’s Total Reward program, our Talent Acquisition Team will share more details as candidates progress.
