Summary of role

Lantheus is seeking an Asset Lead with a proven track record in global oncology and/or neurology product development, ideally with experience in developing and launching oncology and/or Alzheimer’s assets both in the U.S. and internationally. Reporting to the Head of Asset Leadership, the successful candidate will be able to bring significant depth and breadth of experience to lead, manage, and communicate on behalf of the cross-functional asset team. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of accountability for the program, interfacing with the executive leadership, and will work closely and collaboratively with the program team to shape and execute the program strategy. With a clear strategic mindset, focusing on mitigating potential risks while aiming for speed and efficiency, the Asset Lead integrates cross-functional input, synthesizes team recommendations, and directs the program to achieve its goals. The candidate will be a highly effective influencer and team player, both internally and externally, an excellent communicator, and a driver to effectively achieve program goals.

This position is based in Bedford, MA and requires a presence on-site of three days per week, and is open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Forge and lead a high-performing Asset Team, driving cross-functional performance against established objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with functional managers to guide the cross-functional team effectively.
  • Foster the professional growth and success of team members through mentorship and coaching.
  • Develop and refine the asset’s global strategy and Target Product Profile in alignment with business objectives.
  • Secure approval from governance bodies on strategy, timelines, budget, and risk management, ensuring transparent communication of decisions to governance and the team.
  • Align program goals, resources, and expertise to achieve strategic goals and milestones.
  • Provide decisive scientific and program leadership expertise.
  • Ensure alignment of program activities with strategic priorities, identifying and managing critical path activities, risks, and contingencies.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Asset Team and Executive Leadership, delivering regular One Team Voice updates on progress and risk mitigation plans.
  • Drive strategic and tactical planning to inform long-range planning and portfolio prioritization.
  • Lead by influence and demonstrate collaborative behaviors to foster cross-functional ways of working, both with the teams and with the functions. 
  • Govern the meeting structures within the team: assign subteams and subteam membership from team subject matter experts (SMEs) to facilitate efficient use of SME time.
  • Ensure best meeting practices, including balancing requests of preparation versus preserving SME time for execution against goals and circulating brief minutes of decisions and actions following important meetings.

Basic Qualifications

  • Advanced or professional degree highly desirable (e.g., PhD, MD, or MBA)
  • 15+ years of industry experience with 10+ years of drug development and leadership experience
  • Proven track record in leading cross-functional asset teams supporting early- and late-stage programs through regulatory milestones (NDA/BLA), life cycle management and geographical expansion.
  • Comprehensive understanding of drug development phases and lifecycle management. Experience in supporting product launch is desired.
  • Ability to navigate complex programs with ambitious milestones.
  • Ability to lead complex teams of Subject Matter Experts
  • Experience in working with finance team to adequately support program budget planning and controlling.
  • Highly strategic and collaborative individual capable of bridging corporate imperatives with day-to-day execution.
  • Broad experience working with multi-disciplinary functions involved in the drug development process.
  • Excellence in communication and clear and effective engagement of senior leadership and functional area experts at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills as well as a proven track record of leading and motivating cross-functional teams for complex programs.
  • Ability to effectively lead through conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency in coaching and developing individuals.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills targeted to multiple audiences (BoD, executive team, governance, etc.), with executive-level influence and presence. Adept in organizational dynamics, change management, and fostering innovation.

The pay range for this position is between $204,000 and $339,000 annually.

Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Employees in this position are eligible for a discretionary performance-based cash incentive, and depending on the level of the role may be eligible for a discretionary annual equity award. Benefits for this position include a comprehensive health benefits package that includes medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage. Other offerings include life and disability benefits, pre-tax accounts, a 401(k) with company contribution, and a variety of other benefits.
