Job Description

WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Strategic Account Manager focused on new business development. They will foster and build relationships with targeted prospects by helping customers reach their sustainability goals, optimize waste and recycling operations, and improve overall efficiency. This position is responsible for developing a book of new business across the WIN Waste Innovations service footprint within a specific vertical, rather than within a defined geographic territory. The job involves some travel and weekly meetings with prospective customers, both in person and virtual. Prospecting will also include phone blocks and onsite prospecting. This person will need to be highly self-motivated to prospect and maintain consistent, high activity.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains positive relationships with key decision makers at prospective client organizations and manages pricing, proposal development, and negotiation processes to deliver maximum value for both the customer and WIN Waste Innovations.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for new prospects and collaborates with internal teams to ensure all inquiries and requests are addressed and conversion goals are achieved.
  • Onboards new customers and ensures they are successfully integrated into WIN Waste Innovations’ services. After initial onboarding, works with customers to help them achieve sustainability objectives and optimize their waste and recycling operations.
  • Conducts discovery meetings with prospects to understand their business needs and identify ways to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
  • Delivers formal presentations to prospects and customers to communicate services, demonstrate value, and support sales objectives.
  • Cultivates and maintains a pipeline of new business opportunities and ensures all prospecting activity and progress is accurately tracked in the CRM system. Maintains high levels of activity to support sales goals.
  • Fosters collaborative relationships company-wide to ensure the delivery of comprehensive services and support for future customers.
  • Communicates weekly/monthly prospecting progress, pipeline value, and projected revenue impact according to budgeting and forecasting expectations.
  • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, services, and sales processes.
  • Maintains a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner that supports strong relationships with prospective customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management.

Experience

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in new business development, prospecting, or complex accounts, along with a history of succeeding in collaborative work environments. Relevant sales certifications and experience in the industry served by WIN Waste Innovations is preferred.

Strong interpersonal, selling, and negotiation skills along with excellent verbal, written, analytical, and formal presentation skills are required. A demonstrated track record of sales success with the ability to identify, qualify, develop, and convert new business opportunities is key.

Minimum Qualifications

In order to fulfill the performance objectives of this position, the successful Strategic Account Manager must perform essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required by this position. The candidate must:

  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully prospect and market to large accounts.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate analytical, administrative, telephone, and follow-up skills.
  • Have demonstrated leadership and teamwork.
  • Exhibit proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Applications, and CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
