Job Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer reviews and approves component profiles generated by the Sourcing department. Verifies and follows up on component quality issues with the goal of avoiding internal and external customer complaints. Provides improvement ideas and assists with projects focused on improving the quality and efficiency of the Incoming department.

Job Description

Organization, Plan, and Control

• Approves Sourcing area documentation.

• Verifies components and supplier documentation, ensuring they are compliant and up-to-date.

• Documents and communicates errors identified in the documentation with internal and external groups.

• Ensures that coding and other regulatory information is compliant with components and suppliers.

• Conducts research on regulations and guidelines to determine that the information used in sourcing is accurate.

• Provides training related to government procedures and procedures relevant to the process to the sourcing group.

• Conducts periodic audits of the component storage area and communicates the results.

• Reviews and controls external nonconformities related to configuration issues.

• Collaborates with quality personnel on quality issues, data/trend analysis, and other data related to internal/external complaints.

• Facilitates supplier quality alerts.

• Develops processes and plans to identify trends and areas for continuous improvement.

• Performs trend analysis and determines the root cause of detected problems.

• Directs quality problem-solving activities among division staff, customers, and suppliers.

• Shares quality improvement ideas with suppliers.

• Identifies improvements in sourcing-related procedures and provides suggestions aligned with internal procedures, such as company usage standards.

• Actively participates in training for production, quality, engineering, and other personnel regarding component use.

• Identifies areas of opportunity in the incoming process and, based on this knowledge, initiates improvement projects for the area.

• Reports results weekly and monthly.

Communications

• Maintains effective email communication with corporate and plant personnel.

• Maintains effective communication with colleagues, sharing knowledge and opportunities for improvement.

Employee Relations

• Maintains a cordial work environment with colleagues from the same and different departments.

• Work and share information in a respectful manner, seeking camaraderie and teamwork.

Health and Safety

• Follow safety rules at all times while on site premises.

• Identify work hazards and promptly report them to the appropriate department.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$67,080.00 - $97,240.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
