Location: Tucson, AZ (on-site 5 days)

Project Duration: 12 months w/ possibility of extension or conversion

Rate: Negotiable Based on Experience

Security Clearance: Secret Clearance Required

Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Test Systems Technical Lead Engineer to lead the design, integration, and deployment of advanced test systems for missile programs. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic lab setting, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of test environments that support software development, verification, and tactical deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for test system development and integration efforts.
• Collaborate with Program Managers and Integrated Product Team Leaders (IPTLs) to define and meet program milestones.
• Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams through design, development, and deployment phases.
• Oversee technical execution, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and scope.
• Participate in and present at program gate reviews, Failure Review Boards (FRBs), and Change Control Boards (CCBs).
• Approve system changes and report key metrics to stakeholders.
• Define and delegate tasks, provide mentorship, and support team training.
• Travel to support system development, integration, and delivery (up to 20%).

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Proven experience in test systems engineering, including hardware and software integration, verification, and validation.
• Background in designing and deploying test equipment in production or qualification environments.
• Active and transferable U.S. Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
