Job Description
Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER
Biweekly Hours: 80.00
Shift: 8a-5p; Rotating days as needed

Primary skills utilized/learned:
- Utilizes ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of diagnostic medical sonograms to aid in the diagnosis of disease in neonates through adult patients.

Required Qualifications:
Radiology - Meets one of the following criteria:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology program with an advanced certification in Sonography (Abdominal and OB/GYN).
- Possess the Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with specialties in Abdomen (AB) or Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and registered by the ARDMS within 1 year of employment with an AB or OB/GYN specialty.
- Registration in the following specialties must be obtained within 3 years of employment: OB/GYN, Abdominal, and Pediatric*
- Valid BLS Certification from the AHA or obtains within the standard probationary period.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Required - OB/GYN Registry-eligible with the ARDMS, including completing a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography training program.
- Must possess a RDMS credential from ARDMS with a specialty in Obstetrics within 6 months of employment.
- Must possess or obtain within 12 months of employment one or more OB-specific certifications including the Nuchal Translucency (NT) from the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) or Nuchal Translucency Quality Review (NTQR).
*Note: Technologists NOT assigned a rotation to the main hospital ultrasound department are exempted from the Pediatric requirement.

Physical Requirements:
- May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
- May need to lift, pull or push over 50 lbs.
- May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
- See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
- Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
