Job Description

The Chesapeake Sheriff's Office Victim/Witness Program has an immediate opening for a Part Time Victim/Witness Assistant. The assistant provides specialized services to victims of crime seeking protective orders. The position is grant funded by the Department of Criminal Justice Services. Responsibilities Include:
Explains the criminal justice system and ensures that victims are aware of their rights
Provides crisis intervention
Assists with trials; accompanies victims and witnesses to Court
Assists with Protective Orders
Explains Court procedures and provide support
