Role/Department Description:

FactSet’s Data Solutions Engineering team is looking for a Market Data Engineering Director to join our team in leading the digital transformation of Content technologies at FactSet. This leader will play a critical role in the success of FactSet’s Global Market Data strategy.

The Market Data Engineering Director will develop plans to expand the stability and scalability of our Market Data infrastructure for our increasing footprint of clients and help to organize Market Data Engineering to leverage talent and maximize outcome. In addition, this role will work closely with Engineering, Product and Content Management counterparts across the enterprise and Strategic Business Units to ensure alignment and prioritization of resources on the most critical projects needs, and define strategy for adoption of cloud technologies in Market Data Content.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute strategy to bring Market Data technologies at FactSet to the next level of scalability
  • End to end ownership of FactSet’s Real Time Quotes, End of Day prices, and Time and Sales infrastructure and technologies
  • Hire, develop, and manage globally distributed teams including but not limited to the Americas, EMEA and APAC
  • Establish and execute global budget for Market Data Engineering
  • Accelerate operational efficiency through bold resource allocations and align metrics to focus efforts and investments that have the highest impact
  • Continue Cloud transition roadmap for Market Data Infrastructure
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure company and Content goals align with Strategic Business Units and client priorities
  • Build and manage cross departmental relationships to strengthen Market Data Engineering impact

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (concentration in Computer Science or related major preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience with strong track record of performance at individual and managerial level
  • 10+ years of experience building scalable real-time Market Data systems along with extensive experience with Real Time, Exchange Data, and very high throughput systems.
  • Experience influencing teams in a global, cross-functional environment
  • Exceptional knowledge of best practices in the Software industry
  • Exposure to and deep experience with FactSet core technology a plus
  • Rapport-building skills with senior decision makers as well as broader sales and consulting stakeholders
  • Ability to lead with inspiration and generate a culture where individuals and teams are driven to win

The successful candidate will exemplify the seven essential leadership behaviors that FactSet has identified as critical to our future growth and corporate culture.

Operates with an Enterprise Mindset

  • Uses the enterprise strategy as the guiding principle in driving functional focus, clarity and accountability

Leads with Courage and Decisiveness

  • Courageous in thought; pushes and challenges oneself and the organization to test basic assumptions and to think using a blank sheet of paper; is a curious and agile thinker

Is an Outside-in, Market-Focused Innovation Leader

  • Takes a holistic perspective when considering client solutions; considers challenges, needs, and opportunities through the eyes of the client first, not through the eyes of products that we sell first

Demonstrates a Strategic/Tactical Balance

  • Balances focusing on the future with driving the existing business; operationalizes the short- and long-term vision in a way that focuses the organization and can be measured and tracked
  • Aligns resources, time and money to key strategic objectives; eliminates work and investments that do not support the strategy

Builds Collaborative and Trusting Relationships

  • Is a consistent model of FactSet’s corporate values; operates with integrity and is a trusted business partner to internal and external stakeholders; is an extension of the client’s team, working to solve their greatest challenges

Embraces and Drives Change

  • Paints a compelling picture of the future and how FactSet is uniquely positioned within this shifting landscape, translates this into a clear business strategy and plan as a roadmap for success

Leads a High-Performing Business Unit

  • Delegates and empowers; pushes decision-making down into the organization and provides clear decision rights and process structure to ensure transparency—people know how to get things done
  • Serves as an advocate for diversity and inclusion; actively seeks inputs from diverse constituents to make better decisions

The budgeted salary range for this position in the states of California, Connecticut and New York is $190,000.00 - $240.000.00.
