This role will provide the opportunity to contribute to a highly innovated IT area which will bring value to how we do business and manage risk in Market Risk. Be part of a team that is expanding to multiple stripes of Market Risk to simplify the processes within Wholesale Credit Risk and Credit Risk.

To be successful as a VP Software Engineer, you should:

  • Have problem solving skills to think critically and solve complex problems by leading team(s), solving real world use cases in Market Risk space.

  • Have a considerable foundation in programming languages like Python, Java, .net and able to work on enterprise scale

  • Collaborate within and across teams, lead and mentor team members, step in and solve problems as needed.

  • Suggest solution approaches , participate and if need be lead design discussions.

  • Ensure that the team follows best practices in software development, testing and deployment.

  • Manage multiple demands and ensure that time management and prioritization is done effectively.

Minimum Salary $165,000

Maximum Salary $227,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

  • To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures..
