Job Description:
Responsible for the safe and compliant movement, storage, and distribution of chemicals, products, and waste throughout the facility. Maintain accurate records in inventory and waste tracking systems, and ensure all handling meets regulatory and company standards. Organize storage areas for efficiency and safety.
Core Duties:- Load and unload trucks for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Verify incoming chemicals against purchase orders, confirm SDS availability, label containers, update inventory systems, and forward transporter paperwork to purchasing.
- Coordinate internal material flow to minimize handling and maintain proper storage conditions.
- Prepare outbound shipments: select appropriate containers, apply labels, complete shipping documents (UPS/FedEx), manifests, bills of lading, and placarding.
- Conduct cycle counts and maintain secure facility access.
- Support company safety, quality, and security programs.
- DOT Hazmat Employee (initial within 90 days; renew every 3 years)
- IATA Dangerous Goods (initial within 6 months; renew every 2 years)
- RCRA Hazardous Waste Management (initial within 6 months; annual refresh)
- Complete PCC shipping training and 120 hours of on-the-job training within first 90 days.
- Accurate inventory documentation and database use.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, drum carts, and similar equipment.
- Ability to stage raw materials promptly and maintain orderly storage areas.
- Comfortable with computer-based systems and measuring/weighing materials.
- Lift up to 65 lbs occasionally; valid driver’s license; flexible schedule.
- High school diploma or GED minimum.
- Basic math and reading proficiency.
- Minimum two years in a similar role.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- RCRA, DOT, IATA, IMDG certifications.
- Forklift certification.
