Our 1L summer associate positions will each provide a unique opportunity for a 1L law student to work side by side with both McGuireWoods attorneys and the legal department of a corporate partner organization during a 10-week paid internship in the summer of 2025. The 1L summer associate will spend 8 weeks in one of the McGuireWoods offices listed above and the remaining time in the legal department of the partner organization.
Applicants will be considered based on their academic credentials, leadership experience, demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, success in overcoming significant adversity in their path to law school, and other personal achievements. Please note your materials may be shared with our corporate partners during the hiring process.
Applicants will be asked to upload the following materials:

- Undergraduate and law school transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)
- If you apply prior to receiving your first semester law school grades, it will be your responsibility to email your law school transcript to obeckman@mcguirewoods.com by January 31, 2025, in order to complete your application.

Submit a written statement describing your personal commitment to diversity and inclusion and/or significant adversity that you have overcome in your path to law school.
- Candidates must be enrolled in and in good standing at an ABA accredited law school with an anticipated graduation date of 2027 at the time of application.
