2026 Business Management Intern
Job Description
The selected intern will become part of Northrop Grumman's Lifecycle Sustainment and Modernization Solutions (LSMS). LSMS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-1 and B-2 Bombers, E-3 Sentry, Airborne Warning and Control System, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.
As an intern, you'll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of specializations that may include:
• Help develop and implement a costcontrol system for contracts, following government costcontrol guidelines.
• Assist in monitoring contract costs and schedules, flagging any variances for review by the manager.
• Support preparation of basic cost and schedule reports for internal leadership and government stakeholders.
• Help draft and update budgets and funding schedules for contract work, including simple funding profiles and sales outlooks.
• Assist with variance analysis to compare planned versus actual expenditures and highlight discrepancies.
• Support creation and updating of program plans, ensuring that all program requirements and statements of work are captured accurately.
• Help perform schedule risk assessments, identifying potential cost or timing risks that need escalation.
• Assist in maintaining accurate expenditure records and in preparing simple expenditure projections to support funding availability.
• Support the submission of timely funding requests to the government when additional resources are needed.
• Help integrate contractual changes into the costcontrol system, adjusting cost and schedule baselines as directed.
• Assist in liaison work with internal teams, external partners, and government agencies to coordinate contract execution and resolve costcontrol issues.
• Support the verification of financial data accuracy to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.
• Help prepare, develop, and coordinate the integrated master plan and master schedule to meet program objectives.
• Assist in ensuring that major projects and program schedules are aligned across finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality functions.
• Support tracking of plans and schedules, performing basic risk analysis, and identifying critical path and network logic conflicts.
• Help use Gantt charts, PERT, milestone charts, earnedvalue management, and other projectmanagement tools to gauge progress and identify performance variances for focused intervention.
Basic Qualifications
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL the below criteria. The candidate must:
• Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2026.
• Be majoring in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
Preferred Qualifications
• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.
• Be available to work an abbreviated schedule on-site in Oklahoma City during the 2026 academic year.
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite
• Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
Intern Pay Range
• Undergraduate Degrees (Including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master's program): $15.25 to $27.50 per hour
• Master's: $22.00 to $34.50 per hour
