2026 Returning Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineer Intern - Manhattan Beach CA
Job Description
Northrop Grumman is seeking Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineers for an internship opportunity. This position will be located in-person at our Mission Systems Sector in Manhattan Beach, CA (Space Park office location).
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Microelectronics Center (NGMC), Space Park Foundry (SPF). At SPF, we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for both internal and commercial customers, as well as for emerging technology programs. Our Space Park semiconductor foundry supports various production microelectronics technologies, including Gallium Arsenide, Indium Phosphide, Silicon Carbide, and Gallium Nitride. Additionally, we drive cutting-edge technology development in areas such as 3D Heterogeneous Integration, semiconductor materials, manufacturing processes, and advanced transistors.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Assist in continuous improvement of the process control and yield of existing semiconductor microelectronics product lines and technology nodes
• Help maintain existing cleanroom process modules and tools: monitoring processes using statistical process control (SPC) methods; process optimization; and troubleshooting process issues (root cause and corrective action investigations)
Basic Qualifications:
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
• Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026
• Be majoring in Electrical Engineering or Microelectronic Engineering

• The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
• Previous internship at Northrop Grumman
Preferred Qualifications:
• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
• Pursuing Master's degree
• Experience with wafer-level testing and wafer production
At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
Bachelor's (including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master's program in Fall 2026): $26.75 - $32.75/hour
Master's: $38.25 - $40.00/hour
