Job Description

Job Summary:

The Account Manager I is responsible for customer commercial and relationship management activities.

Essential functions of the job:

  • Support customer commercial and relationship management activities, including but not limited to:
    • Pricing, proposal development and negotiations.
    • Delivering and receiving information directly with the customer, including supporting problem solving.
    • Visiting customer sites and gathering information including business opportunities, volumes, capacity, and financial status.
    • Fulfilling customer requirements to address pricing and commercial needs that include creation of customers’ price breakdown forms, tooling price breakdown forms, and various requests for information needed to support commercial issues and claims.
    • Securing PO's and release to internal departments.
    • Populating customers’ online quotation systems when needed.
    • Engineering Change negotiations (Phase 2 - 5).
    • Prototype Part Quotation.
  • Assist in price management utilizing the Excel bump chart, customer portal and YF ERP system.
  • Track commercial open issues. Meet with customer to present issues and work on a timing plan for issue resolution.
  • Support the launch team to understand program financials and commercial impacts to the program.
  • Engage with SDT to gather all price and cost data to support change management.
  • Work with the account team to grow the commercial roadmap.
  • Price update requests to revenue analyst.
  • Enter data in customer portal (quote price breakdown, change notices).
  • Commercial amortization tracking.
  • Update short notice downtime claims in tracking template.
  • Track/audit supplementary contract details (capacity, packaging, lead time, etc.).
  • Assist with annual long term price adjustments and annual sales tracking and templates.
  • Quarterly price updates for material economics (Steel, Resin, Copper, etc.).
  • Run macro for quarterly pricing audits.
  • Timely and accurate directed pricing updates (supplier cost/customer price).
  • Assist with tool tag photo collection and customer verification.
  • Customer price breakdown updates and maintenance.
  • Annual tool audit support (locate tools, provide photos, research in customer system).
  • Prepare data needed to understand cost impacts for engineering changes and how to strategically price changes.
  • Data gathering for inflationary or commercial claims. Develop claim strategy with the account team.
  • Consistently have a proactive approach to problem resolution, perform analysis and communicate simplified message to audience.
  • Supporting the other members of the account management team to be able to perform analyses when the workload dictates it and to be able to act as a backup when necessary.
  • Support key projects and initiatives deemed critical to the success of the commercial team for Interiors business operations as directed by the Commercial Sales Director and General Manager.
  • Consults with: Program Controller (PC), Bratislava Business Center (BBC), Commercial Team (Sales Director and account management team), Plant Controller, Other Finance Professionals.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Level Degree in Accounting or relevant finance degree or equivalent.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ Years of Experience in finance and account management; preferably with a large company with experience in finance reporting and consolidation.
  • 1-3+ Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
  • Proficient with multiple computer applications and ERP systems: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint), SAP and/or QAD.
  • Ability to communicate succinctly technical information to nontechnical audience.
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data efficiently; create meaningful charts as needed to highlight issues, progress, priorities.
  • High aptitude for problem solving in order to resolve business, financial, customer, and organizational issues.
  • Proven interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Must possess highly effective analytical skills in areas of critical thinking and communication.
